Avlon Venturi Scrubbers are designed to remove both heavy and light airborne particulate matter from exhaust systems, as well as flue and process gasses. Venturi Scrubbers bring particulate-laden air streams together with water at high velocities to transfer the particulate into the water stream. Simple in design, yet highly efficient, Avlon Venturi Scrubber incorporates features calculated to maximize collection efficiency while minimizing operating and maintenance costs. Extremely important in these days of rising energy costs is an adjustable pressure drop provision and an energy regain feature which combine to reduce power consumption and operating costs.

Cyclonic separator for mist elimination (no mesh pads or chevrons to clean or replace). Adjustable spin damper for optimization of cyclonic separator performance. No maintenance Venturi Wet Scrubber

Little or no maintenance is required on the Venturi scrubber. There are no internal moving parts to wear or come out of alignment. The liquid is introduced through spray nozzles that can be easily removed through the flanges provided. The use of spray nozzles allows the Venturi scrubber to be installed horizontally as well as in the conventional vertical position.

AVLON scrubbers are available in single and multiple stages or can be combined with a Packed Bed polishing scrubber afterwards for additional transfer units to meet extremely high gaseous contaminant removal efficiencies.

Non-plugging spray nozzles above bed of loose fill polypropylene packing. Our nozzles work on the impact principle, by the deflection of a water stream that impacts onto a spiral profiled surface which provides the desired spray angle. These are one-piece nozzles with no internal vane and a wider free passage. The liquid inlet has nearly the same size as the outlet orifice diameter. Their special design makes them virtually clog-free and produces a wider spray coverage than other nozzles for a given flow and pressure.

High Efficiency Wet Scrubber

Efficiency: For water soluble gases up to 98% in single stage and over 99% with multiple stages.
Particulate Removal: 2 microns and above from 95 to over 99.9%. Particulate removal can be increased with multiple stages

The gas from the Venturi section is normally discharged into a cyclonic separator. A spin is imparted to the gas in this cyclone separator so that the liquid is driven to the outside wall through the spinning action of the gas. The liquid is then collected and returned to the sump where it can be recycled. A final Chevron is · normally employed to assure the highest efficiency possible. This separator is particularly well suited to variable gas flows since it is effective over a wide range of operating conditions and insures against loss of liquid droplets from the separator.

For very high inlet temperatures, Avlon designs a complete selection of quench units using either ceramic lining or special alloys. These quench sections reduce the inlet gas temperature and volume prior to the Venturi.
